A Public School Success Story
The current webinar details a collaborative project between a mid-western university and a local intermediate school district. As part of a multi-year project, the webinar will focus on data from the first year of implementation of the Morningside Model of Generative Instruction: Math Curriculum.
An overview of the project’s implementation will be discussed including, but not limited to, teacher buy-in and training, homogeneous grouping, Direct Instruction, and Precision Teaching. Modifications made to support students with autism will also be discussed. Lastly, specific behavior management systems to promote active engagement and manage disruptive behaviors will be highlighted.
What participants will learn:
The relationship between poorly designed instruction and disruptive behaviors.
How to select appropriate interventions to address the underlying issues.
Tactics for identifying and using evidence-based curricula for mathematics intervention.
Plans for implementing Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching methodsfor students with autism.

We believe the "learner knows best," and it is our privileged responsibility to adapt educational materials to our learners' needs. We do so by precisely measuring behavior, judging the outcomes of the performance intervention on a standard chart, and make changes if the data tell us an adaptation is in order.
